Murree Special Snowfall Winter Advisory :)

Its December. Lot of People are asking about the Snowfall in Murree as the winter vacations are coming near.

So For all of them Our Advice is Don't waste your trip in December. There are few chances on 21st-22nd December of Light Snowfall(at max 4-5 inches). But It's no way near to real taste of Murree's Snowfall.

If you really want to enjoy some Good Snowfall(more than 1ft) then you should wait for atleast 2-3 weeks more. There are two to three Good Spells expected in January.

In February too, Some Records of Snowfall are expected to be Broken.

So Be Calm and Plan your trip accordingly :)

Egyptian Pyramids under Snow. Global Cooling or Warming?

The snow that has blanketed much of the Middle East turned Cairo white on Friday – with local news reports claiming it was Egypt’s capital’s first snowfall in 112 years.
The city averages less than an inch of rain each year, and hundreds stopped their walk to work or school to snap pictures of the falling flakes, tweeting their delights.
Snow in Egypt…    How bizarre.  Doesnt happen often as you can see.  There probably isnt anyone alive from the last time it happened. Global cooling is probably more accurate no?

1994 Wettest Monsoon of Karachi in the Words of Wajahat Butt

Being a Karachite myself, i know how it feels like, when months and months pass in Karachi without a single drop of rain, i have witnessed many monsoon seasons in which Karachi got very minimum or negligible or just no rainfall at all. However, i have also witnessed some good monsoon years over the period of time in Karachi as well, out of them, 1994 was the most memorable monsoon of my life. Not only me, u can ask and confirm from a number of Karachites who have seen various monsoon seasons during thier lifetime will give you possibly the same answer. According to our user Waseem Ahmed bhai, he has also never witnessed such wettest Monsoon ever in Karachi...At that time there was no Cable, No Internet, No Mobile communications present therefore the only way to know about the weather was local newspapers or PTV Khabarnama at Nine o'clock. Fortunately, the data of 1994 monsoon is made available by Waseem Ahmed atlast. However, today i want to add something more to this record as i have come across some graphical repsentation of 1994 monsoon's over the region. Data made available by Waseem Ahmed bhai was limited to one measuring station in the city, the accurate estimate of 1994 rainfall is not quite possible with it. But according to this chart the rainfall data across the city was approximately equal to:
June: 20-30 mm (1 rainy day)
July: 240 mm Approx (13 rainy days)
August: 120 mm Approx (8 rainy days)
September: 240 mm approx (5 rainy days)
As i remember, In first week of September 1994, i had developed a very high fever ranging at 104 degree farhenheit and i did actually wish that the city should get away with these rains. But, i never knew that these long rainy days will never come back again...will they?????
